Toileting

Our approach

Calm, respectful, and on your child's timeline

Toilet learning the Montessori way — never with pressure, shame, or rewards.

A child-sized space

A low seat, step stool, and everything within reach, so children can manage as much as possible themselves.

We follow readiness

Gentle invitations, not schedules. We watch for signs: staying dry longer, curiosity about the toilet, pulling pants up and down independently, telling you before or after.

Clothing for independence

Pants that are easy to pull up and down make success possible; complicated outfits work against a toddler's growing independence.

No rewards, no pressure

We treat toileting like walking or talking: a skill that unfolds when the child is ready. Praise is warm but matter-of-fact.

One approach, home and school

Consistency matters. We share what's working and agree on language and routine so your child gets the same message everywhere.

Accidents are welcome

They're a normal part of learning. We handle them calmly, without fuss, and keep plenty of dry clothes on hand.

What to send

Pack for independence

Several changes of clothes, pants your child can manage alone, and weather layers. When your family decides the time is right, we'll move to underwear or cloth training pants together — one consistent step at a time.
